This country has been gerrymandered for years. No one cared when it was the Democrats. Where's the outrage about Illinois? It's gerrymandered like crazy. Where's Obama to fight it?

Gerrymandering has been around since the Early 19th century. It was fine and dandy while Democrats controlled The House for most of the period from 1931 - 1994.

Much like with the electoral college and as in Woodrow Wilson and FDR vis-a-vis the Constitution: when progressives lose or something gets in the way of their thirst for absolute power they seek to change the rules or nullify them through the judiciary.

Honest question. How do you fix gerrymandering? Is every district supposed to be split evenly to match the political leaning of a state? Does it make sense that a district covers El Reno, Ft. Cobb, and 5% of Oklahoma City so it has an Urban influence? Fact is, Gerrymandering does happen but its overblown as an excuse, and demographics change enough that by the final elections of a districting cycle, whatever gerrymandering some politician attempted usually works out about as well as any other government, master-planned idea. I mean, lets get real. There's a thread on this forum talking about Dems winning in Cleveland and Oklahoma counties. If that's Gerrymandered, then damn, the politicians suck.
