This guy gets a little bit of positive momentum and then now spends his time fighting over this Ms Universe stuff. Where is his team to keep him focused? He shouldn't be sending a single tweet about her... This is like fighting the Muslim veteran's family all over again.

I wonder what would happen if you pointed that laser at hillary's eyes? Someone should try that.

Trumps ego will be the only thing that can keep him out of the White House. sad

Not always. He used and discarded the birther gambit in the best political troll job I have ever witnessed. He's got it in him if he can treat Miss Porniverse and Tax returns - two things nobody gives a single backwards f*** about - with the same dismissive backslap.

No idea why he gives people the time of day on things like this, but he's surrounded by brilliant campaign strategists. He needs to listen to them.

That troll job was great on the media, but in the end what did it win him? Nothing.

...And the birther controversy was far from discarded as it reared its head again at the debate and he got called a racist by his opponent during the debate for his birther stance without having a good argument to defend himself.

I disagree. It got brought up again, but nobody has ever to this day been able to create a link between the birther movement and racism/bigotry. All I've ever heard is that it's racist because it was leveled at "our first black president" as though this fully explains it.

That should be the answer the next time it's brought up - 'tell me again how asking to see his birth certificate is bigoted?' Let the viewing audience see that it's nothing more than the same old - you can't criticize Obama for anything without being a racist.

It also ignores the fact that recent republican candidates have also been questioned about being natural born US citizens. It gets brought up still, sure but who cares? Seriously, does anyone?

What he needs to do is simply this - quickly pivot anything to do with Miss Porniverse, Birthers or tax returns right back to Benghazi, servers, missing emails, clinton foundation, jobs and immigration. Period. None of his "issues" compares to hers, and that needs to be his strategy. Dismiss and pivot.

To be clear I don't think he's a racist and I don't think anyone who questions where Obama was born is one either, but she called Trump a racist to his face and he did nothing to defend himself. Maybe there is no defense? But I would think his team could have anticipated that attack and had a pre packaged answer that debunked this attack from the dems and media.

CLINTON: Well, just listen to what you heard.

(LAUGHTER)

And clearly, as Donald just admitted, he knew he was going to stand on this debate stage, and Lester Holt was going to be asking us questions, so he tried to put the whole racist birther lie to bed.

But it can't be dismissed that easily. He has really started his political activity based on this racist liethat our first black president was not an American citizen. There was absolutely no evidence for it, but he persisted, he persisted year after year, because some of his supporters, people that he was trying to bring into his fold, apparently believed it or wanted to believe it.

But, remember, Donald started his career back in 1973 being sued by the Justice Department for racial discrimination because he would not rent apartments in one of his developments to African-Americans, and he made sure that the people who worked for him understood that was the policy. He actually was sued twice by the Justice Department.

So he has a long record of engaging in racist behavior. And the birther lie was a very hurtful one. You know, Barack Obama is a man of great dignity. And I could tell how much it bothered him and annoyed him that this was being touted and used against him.

But I like to remember what Michelle Obama said in her amazing speech at our Democratic National Convention: When they go low, we go high. And Barack Obama went high, despite Donald Trump's best efforts to bring him down.

HOLT: Mr. Trump, you can respond and we're going to move on to the next segment.

TRUMP: I would love to respond. First of all, I got to watch in preparing for this some of your debates against Barack Obama. You treated him with terrible disrespect. And I watched the way you talk now about how lovely everything is and how wonderful you are. It doesn't work that way. You were after him, you were trying to -- you even sent out or your campaign sent out pictures of him in a certain garb, very famous pictures. I don't think you can deny that.

But just last week, your campaign manager said it was true. So when you tried to act holier than thou, it really doesn't work. It really doesn't.

Now, as far as the lawsuit, yes, when I was very young, I went into my father's company, had a real estate company in Brooklyn and Queens, and we, along with many, many other companies throughout the country -- it was a federal lawsuit -- were sued. We settled the suit with zero -- with no admission of guilt. It was very easy to do.

TRUMP: I notice you bring that up a lot. And, you know, I also notice the very nasty commercials that you do on me in so many different ways, which I don't do on you. Maybe I'm trying to save the money.

But, frankly, I look -- I look at that, and I say, isn't that amazing? Because I settled that lawsuit with no admission of guilt, but that was a lawsuit brought against many real estate firms, and it's just one of those things.

I'll go one step further. In Palm Beach, Florida, tough community, a brilliant community, a wealthy community, probably the wealthiest community there is in the world, I opened a club, and really got great credit for it. No discrimination against African- Americans, against Muslims, against anybody. And it's a tremendously successful club. And I'm so glad I did it. And I have been given great credit for what I did. And I'm very, very proud of it. And that's the way I feel. That is the true way I feel.

I wonder if there's any truth to the idea that he's holding some cards for future debates. Maybe a bit more on Hillary's covering up for her paragon of virtue husband?

Speaking of which...

The issue won't die for a long while because of what it proves.

I'm still waiting for the bombshell from Trump's investigators he had scouring Hawaii. Remember he had big news? What ever happened to it?

Most masterful job I've ever seen of letting someone get waaaaaaay out on a limb and then sawing it off. It humiliated (or "cucked" in the current obsession of the right) the entire movement. Obama finally released it and the toothless right had to collectively sit and stare at the birth certificate with gravy dripping from its fat chin, while the rest of the country enjoyed that same old dumbfounded expression and shook their head. Once again, the toothless right was demonstrably and publicly wrong. Oh the outrage!!!! The evidence!! The energy spent investigating!! Press conferences and utube documentaries! The posts on here! At this point, the issue just reminds everyone of how laughably stupid and gullible the right's core demographic is. And Trump led the charge. I would have a "remember when?" session over it at every opportunity too, if I was HRC.

The obsession over the obsession is as comical as the original obsession, if not more so.

If only Hillary could actually remember anything...

In all fairness, Albert E 0bama did have his birth place listed as Kenya in a booklet and his own Chewbacca referred to Kenya as "his home country." Maybe that dumbass should have policed his own before crying about the question.

We're still waiting for one of you panty wearing mouth breathers to explain how questioning his country of birth is racist.

LOL, Get that info out there!! Don't hide it, make sure everyone knows!

It's already out there cupcake. But you screeching lefties already know that. The fact that anybody associated with the Clinton campaign thinks the birther bullshit is a viable talking point that is going to have some positive impact on the old hag's campaign shows how truly desperate they are. "Why am I not fifty points ahead???????"

Still waiting on an explanation of racism. I'm sure you'll have an answer on par with your 30 guns and the Second Amendment expertise. Come on lady, entertain us.

He can't explain it. Nobody can.

First, you have to tell me the distinction between intellectual honesty and hypocrisy. Until then, I elect to simply quietly enjoy the whining (Who? Us?! But Rush says Democrats burned crosses in the old days!!") about being labeled as racist while blacks vote for HRC by like... 9 - 1.. Although,I hear Ben Carson got a black lady in Georgia to put out a yard sign. She's voting for HRC now, though...

Rush. Great band. Never heard their opinion on the KKK origin story though.
