Yep, at one point not long ago 71% of their rulings were overturned.

OP's numbers are a bit off. The Wash Times article said there are 10 GOP judges and 16 dem judges. Dems still control but their numbers are shrinking.

25 look to be appointed by democratic presidents and 19 appointed by Republican presidents including 5 Trump appointees. There are 3 vacancies.

Can't speak for California or Federal Courts. One of my client's is a retired Chief Justice of a Texas Court of Appeals. She doesn't hear an active schedule of cases but does hear "overflow" cases to help clear the docket.
