I remember an interview with McCain back in 2008 where he made reference to this loop. It was when his campaign was making positive moves and his numbers were rising. I never took the time to look it up, but he gave a brief, one or two sentence, summary of what it meant. He got the idea across, and it stuck in my brain.

I'm of the belief that Trump is making decisions that are FAR more intelligent than most are giving him credit for, including people on this board, his political opponents (both R and D), and most certainly the Media.

Elements of the OODA Loop, excerpts from Wikipedia (a bastion of truth that should always be taken at face value /blue):

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/OODA_loop

"The OODA loop has become an important concept in litigation,[1] business[2] and military strategy. According to Boyd, decision-making occurs in a recurring cycle of observe-orient-decide-act. An entity (whether an individual or an organization) that can process this cycle quickly, observing and reacting to unfolding events more rapidly than an opponent can thereby "get inside" the opponent's decision cycle and gain the advantage."

AND

"The key is to obscure your intentions and make them unpredictable to your opponent while you simultaneously clarify his intentions. That is, operate at a faster tempo to generate rapidly changing conditions that inhibit your opponent from adapting or reacting to those changes and that suppress or destroy his awareness. Thus, a hodgepodge of confusion and disorder occur to cause him to over- or under-react to conditions or activities that appear to be uncertain, ambiguous, or incomprehensible."

SCIENTIFIC UNDERPINNINGS:

The OODA Loop also serves to explain the nature of surprise and shaping operations in a way that unifies Gestalt psychology, cognitive science and game theory in a comprehensive theory of strategy. Utility theory (the basis of game theory) describes how decisions are made based on the perceived value of taking an action. The OODA Loop shows that prior to making a decision (the Decide phase), the person will first have to get information (Observe) and determine what it means to him and what he can do about it (Orient). In this way, the utility sought at the Decide phase can be altered by affecting the information the opponent receives and the cognitive model he applies when orienting upon it.[4]

Donald trump leads with o'reilly in two segments and Megan kelly can't get to him fast enough at the beginning of her show. He doesn't need these clowns because they report on him no matter what he says. He is krauthammers favorite person to talk about. Bret bair Carl Cameron John Roberts they are all just trump watchers like that panda in Ron burgundy.

Fox News is making tons of money off of trump obviously because they talk about him all ****ing day as does msnbc. They are the pilot fish and if the shark wants to swim somewhere they don't want to swim the shark makes the rules in that relationship.

If you are is sales then Trumps book is a must. I will say the guy knows how to deal not doubt about that in my mind.
