Who was the idiot here who said he was giving up on VV being able to act like a bad man? Glad I'm not that dumbass who first thought VV would be great and then watched two episodes and said he was awful. Dolt.

Isn't Vince about 6-6?

"You can leave your rings on, it won't matter to me." Chingame!

A real henchman always has pliers in his pocket.

Each of the four main character's story lines is winding up tighter than a tie-dye shirt. And that doesn't count the tension over the murder case.

You knew he was going to have to get medieval after the way that fat man talked to him. I thought it was a pretty good episode overall. I'm a little bored of the highway cop story as it's your typical self hating gay tough guy stuff. I'm ready for them to start getting a little deeper into the murder and conspiracy. I have a feeling the mayor's son is going to play a bigger role at some point.

Not sure I'm really buying Vince as the ultimate tough guy. Overall a good episode. I thought the opening scene was a little over the top to have him just wake up and be fine and yes the gay cop is getting tiresome. My takeaways:

> The Mayors sons is obviously connected to Casper and the whole kinky sex party scene.

> Ms. Tasha is significant as is the missing girl.

> The gay cop is being set up to discover all this along his journey to self discovery. He obviously has deep background issues with whatever happen in Afghanistan.

> Ray is developing a serious don't give a damn attitude due to being shot and realizing he's losing his son and the state investigation. This makes it's impossible for Vince and the Mayor to control him..

> Not sure the Russians are who is behind all this. They feel like a red herring to me.

Watched the episode last night. I found it pretty boring. I don't find VV convincing as the character he is playing. I, also, thought it was a bit ridiculous that his henchman had pliers in his pocket and knew to hand them to him when he put his hand out. Obviously, someone connected to the investigation is also the mastermind behind Casper's killing. As soon as the cops were close to finding the car that transported Casper, the car was fire-bombed. My guess is that it is Ray's boss.

Been, I keep getting the feeling Ray's boss is connected to this as well. He seems way too invested in this.

And the way they have brought the mayor's kid into this. It does feel like he has something to do with it.

Last night was the first time I've felt myself comparing the two seasons, and this one is not comparing well. Just boring.

I think it's hard to compare because you went from an all-time performance by McConaughey and the usual genius of Woody Harrelson to this bunch. I think VV, Farrel, McAdams and Tim Riggins have all had their moments over the years but none - maybe McAdams to a degree - seem capable of carrying this type of show. The bar was set so incredibly high last year that it's impossible for this season to not be underwhelming by comparison.

I think the writing just demands such a high standard from the actors, it's SO character driven. Not many chases or fights to keep you entertained. You need to be entertained by the sullen and complex looks and utterances from the core characters. When those are merely OK, the show underdelivers.
