Top 10 signs OSU will WIN the BIG XII...

!. MASON RUDOLPH (if you need a long explanation you must be blind to QB talent).
It's going to be a great ride for the next 3 years. Can you say "POOR SOONERS"?

2. We actually have an offensive line. Mammoth tackles, growling guards, a newly canonized center.
No juiced up HS TE's. No Frosh looking lost in the big show, No walk-ons hoping for a scholarship.

3. Thunder and lightning @ RB. "BIG XII Pre-saeon Newcomer of the year" Carson will shred defenses with speed and power. Carr will leave then grasping for air, literally. The other guys will be filler. Sorry Rennie.

4. We have SO many talented WR's, they will each get to play 1 snap this season. Which means they will be rested and hungry when their play comes. It is often said that you must have NFL talent to compete for Championships, well looking down this position group, who can you see that will get a shot at the next level?

5. The Cowboys are backs. No wait, the Cowboy backs are back. Well, they were here but we didn't call them Cowboys. Well, we did, but now they're Cowboy Cowboy backs. You get the idea. What that signals, along with the brilliant hire of Coach Mac, is that we are game planning for more power running and QB protection (remember, he's No. 1 on this list for a reason.) With their size, speed, and strength combination they also cause scary match-up problems for those tiny DB's, that will hopefully run in fear, rather than attempt to tackle them.

6. Team SPEED. According to Gundy, after years of recruiting focus ,we now have THAT THING that kills.
(Why we didn't always FOCUS on it is a DUH thing in my mind.)
Great teams have great team speed.
(If that sounds overly simplistic how about he overused phrase: It is what it is. (Really?) OR one better:
A rose is a rose is a rose.

7. We have a D line. I know, but we haven't always been able to say that, but this year we are evidently deep enough, EVEN with a preseason loss of Levini, our best player at this position, we are able to RS one of the most talented and BIG XII ready DT's we've EVER brought in. (Yes, I love run on sentences)
(and Parenthesis)).

8. LB depth is "the best in the Gundy era". That phrase has been used frequently in reference to this team. But it is very applicable to the well-manned LB corps. From 4 year starter Simmons to uber-talented juco transfers to now maturing talented underclassmen, we are prepared to reduce the number of snaps for the starters with little or no drop off in results. This means the 4th quarter comebacks by fast paced opponents are a thing of the past.

9. We can cover. Not the spread. Well, that too until they figure out this team is special, but the secondary follows the same theme of the rest of the defense. Some say we have transitioned from "running back U" to "Defensive back U" because of the number of players we have placed in the NFL over the last few years at this position. This year is no exception with Peterson expected to be a mid-round pick. But wait there's more! We have at least 5 corners that can play at a high level and great talent and adequate depth at Safety. In a conference where the "Championship game" winds up 61-58 you better be ready to cover.

10. >>>>> 37% of the FIRST team All BIG XII defense are COWBOYS! <<<<<
Wow, I got light headed just typing that. Yes, Peterson, Simmons, and Ogbah lead a salty D that's ready to kick some ass. With NFL first round talent, great depth, great coaching and a "We're taking it back" mentality, we are primed to get some stops and create more possessions for the O.

11. Experience on offense, defense, and special teams that include an improved and now healthy FG kicker and a talented punter have Gundy being quoted at the BIG XII media days as saying:
'We have NO weaknesses"
(EMPHASIS ADDED, BUT COME ON, HOW COULD YOU NOT?) NO weaknesses!?

12. Gundy is calm and happy. Yes, I know, you may have to read that several times for it to sink in. He's NOT the whining, yelling, brooding Gundy we come to know and love. Does he know something we don't?
Not if your reading this;)

Salute to a conference that can't decide if it's 10 or 12.
