My son’s book, Impossible Owls, a book of essays hits the book stores tomorrow. It is already Number One in several genres (admittedly a book of essays doesn’t take much to be number one). He is an amazingly gifted writer. His essays are pointedly apolitical, mostly they center around his globe-hopping to see weird but significant events, and his understanding of what they mean to the human condition.
The record for a book of essays is around 40,000 copies. This first printing is for 9,000 with hopes the demand will call for a second printing of equal number. If he sells enough copies he will be offered a second book contract for quite a lot of money.
I beseech you, nay, I beg of you to buy one or more copies, one for yourself and one for a friend that likes to read (it will make a great Christmas stocking stuffer!).
He is doing a book tour. Cities I know about include Los Angeles, New York, Washington DC, OKC, Tulsa and Ponca City. I think there are others but I do not know what they are. He will be in Oklahoma toward the end of this month. Buy his book, come to his signing and get it autographed! Buy his book and read it. You will not be disappointed!
