Can't really load up a wagon and head for the untamed wilderness any more.

And you Catholics. Wth is wrong with you, you're better than these people? This is your treatment of Christ's children seeking refuge? @GunsOfFrankEaton

There’s just no spirit in this troll. Like watching a punch drunk boxer that doesn’t know when to retire.

I think this is a great analogy and look what happened to the native population when the illegal Europeans came en mass to this country. They were decimated as a peoples and society and are a shell of their former glory. If we continue to allow mass illegal immigration with zero integration and assimilation, then our society will eventually face the same fate as those native Americans.

Sys, that's your hot take on Europe?

And how do you address aix's concerns?

Aix made a relevant point, so his point gets addressed when I have time. See, that's a point. It's thought provoking. it's why I come here. You and Wharry should try.

Well, good sir, I'll hold you to this invitation to conversation in the future.

We may yet still be friends. But you gotta start showing up for basketball in some capacity. Message board will suffice.

Rewatch Dances with Wolves prior to responding!

1. Your perspective is of indigenous people that are forcibly removed? The parallel between the most powerful nation in the history of the world and an indian tribe isn't valid.

2. Indians were hardly blameless. And what "glory" are you referring to?

3. I might agree with the parallel if the "invading illegals" in this case had the guns, manpower and technology to overwhelm the "natives." It's a very poor analogy when you completely ignore who has the power and who does not.

Fair, although when Europeans first landed they weren't more powerful than the native Americans. It was only the openness of many tribes to accept their arrival that they allowed the Europeans to achieve enough volume of people to overwhelm the natives.

Second, how were the Indians not blameless? Did they invite the Europeans over? But you are right. Too many accepted them in a friendly manner and thus created an incentive for even more to come until a point was reached that the native tribes could no longer resist the overwhelming volume that came.

Third, in many cases they do. The Europeans brought women and children who didn't bare guns much like the ''good' illegal immigrants of today, all looking for a better opportunity (I've heard that before somewhere). But their is enough evidence that the men who have come over have been armed and are more than capable of overwhelming the average citizen. As for glory, go read about the history of the Cherokee or Seminole tribes. They roamed over thousands of square miles. 300 years later they are relagated to tiny reservations and sadly the closest thing they have left of a heritage are casinos and tax free cigarettes.

Is it a perfect parallel? Nope. History never repeats itself exactly. But there are enough parallels that to simply ignore this lesson and allow (and even welcome) this invasion seems asinine. Remember it took 250 years for the Indians to be fully overcome and forced to submit to the Europeans. It's been about 50 years worth of significant illegal immigration and you've seen cities like Houston, LA, and San Antonio have such an influx that 2/3rds of the school children speak Spanish as opposed to English as their primary language. If we do nothing, where will we be in 200 more?

Creeks today are x10,000 better off as a result of Manifest Destiny. No argument. The muskogee nations roamed on foot. They had no medicine to speak of. Their companion and enemy tribes engaged in genocide and torture and dispossession. Hell they hardly had government, it was more just culture.

America is going to win, baby. We always do. Opportunity and rock and roll and hustle, not walls and entitlement, are what makes us great. Like pioneers, looking for something better, these people will hustle.

It is interesting that you take the perspective of a victim. Not the pioneer - a victim. Not the valley explorer, the intrepid adventurer, the capitalist, but a victim. I get it, you're scared of these people. You shouldn't be.

This morning I came downstairs and the s.o. is listening to the Spanish station. She speaks and understands Spanish. She was marveling at the total opposite narrative the Spanish station had, the view from South of the Border. They emphasized the hell these people were trying to get away from. I do not think y'all understand how many people you turn off every time you demonize some vulnerable, tiny minority.

Not sure your post really addresses mine but I'll reply anyhow.

I wonder if the Creeks believe they are better off. Yes they gained improved technology over time but lost the right to self determination as a people and have had their entire culture absorbed. Pretty steep price.

As for being a victim, not sure where you read that. I never used the word I or victim.

As for the US always winning, hold the phone please, Vietnam and Afghanistan are calling. And if you don't want to talk militarily, how about the direct correlations between Hispanic population growth inversely tired to our falling international education ratings. I know you think it's other factors that influence our free fall in these G20 rankings, but I believe the challenge of illegal immigration that we have and that other European and Asian countries do not is a prime contributor to our declines in these measures.

I know everything that goes on in Sutton Court, Brad. I was also front and center at the game on Monday. I think e1 is impatient and rightly so, but MB is doing about all that can be humanly expected in the "Lamont Evans still has a trial" era of heightened NCAA scrutiny. I said when all the charges broke that it would take 4 years to regain national relevance.. Well, if anything HCMB is performing ahead of schedule imo. He batted .500 in his first and shortened recruiting year with two true freshmen starting as legit Big 12 players. Hell Sutton never got 2 legit starting freshmen a year.

Man I'm sick of it though. I want a tournament run.
