The government of my country makes plenty of blunders. I spend a great deal of my time and energy criticizing it for its hubris and incompetence. But my country - the people of my country - are the kindest, gentlest and most giving people on the planet. That often gets lost in the hubbub of the news. For much of the rest of the world we are admired and envied because we are “Freedom men.” I tend to forget that. But then I see an article like this and am reminded just how lucky I am. I don’t agree with everything he says, but I am proud to be thought of as a Freedom Man.
