I was watching the game a bit late, so was unable to participate in the game thread.

-I don’t think we won the opening tip in any of our first 10+ games (might be wrong on a couple), but I’m pretty sure we have won it in our last 6.

-Officials really let them play tonight. There was a lot of contact throughout the game, where I have been conditioned to hear a whistle, with no call.

-ESPN put up the “Bonus” graphic, for both teams when they hit 6 fouls, and “Bonus+” when they got to 9. They must have read my post after the Tech game.

-Hammonds was better tonight. Not a ton of positive plays, but very few plays where he hurt us. Had some hard fought rebounds in the 2nd half and hit his FT.

-Solomon is really improving on both ends. If he could stay out of foul trouble, he will develop into a very good Big 12 player. He is really starting to understand where he needs to be and what he needs to do to be successful on both ends.

-I thought Underwood did a good job managing his rotation in this game. It must have been tough to play Solomon for extended minutes with 3 fouls, but he had to do it.

-Some are questioning if N’Guessan will be good enough to play at this level. He is already better than Solomon was in either of his first 2 seasons.

-Carroll just scores from everywhere, and in every way. Never seems to force anything.

-Nice to see Evans looking like the guy from non-conference games.

-That was a heck of a game by two teams that refused to lose. Every time OSU made a run, TCU made plays and closed the gap (until the last 5 minutes). Every time TCU shifted the momentum, OSU calmly continued running their game plan, did not panic and was able to get the momentum back.

-At the end of the game, I felt like I was watching an Eddie Sutton coached game. Tough, tough OSU defense without fouling. Making TCU use time or take a tough shot early in the shot clock. Strong defensive rebounding. Burn clock on the offensive end. Get high quality shots late in the shot clock.

-This team looks so much better now that they are playing some defense. As I have been saying all season, the offense will be there every night. We will win a lot of our remaining games if we just play D at this level. Gradually improve the D, and we should really finish the season strong.
