The four freshmen def ends look promising. Brailford will probably be the one that plays this year. Cole has nice quickness but needs more mass and strength. Owens seems to be the one disappointment. I expected more at this stage. Hays and Neph go nicely with Gladden at inside receiver- Neph had a nice catch in the corner of the end zone. Brown appears to have decent speed and hands- perhaps better- and does remind of Bowman. The "backs" are big, mobile and appear to be able to catch the ball. Nice group. Childs might have impressed me as much as anyone today. Going forward, Ramon cannot get burned deep twice a game- Washington is not the only good receiver in the conf. We could really use Sekona even though he would be a freshman- I hope someway he can become eligible. I liked the way Mason positioned his players and barked at them if they were not exactly where he wanted them. Does have a funky throwing motion. Burton can play. Taylor can play. I for one am glad we don't play Fla State first this year. Lot of work to be done- I still did not see my killer safety out there today.
