-The worst thing about losing that game is the damage it does to the momentum that this team was building. We have two big home games this week, and this loss gives fans who were on the fence about attending, an excuse to stay home and watch it on TV, DVR it, or not watch at all.
-TCU is not as good as us, but the gap is not as wide as most of us thought prior to tip off (obviously). Just look at their power rankings in RPI, etc. their numbers are better than those of KSU. They beat some good teams in the non-conf. OSU was only favored by 1.5. TCU probably will take down one or two more good teams in the next 3 weeks.
-How stupid is it that they started the game with 2 free throws, and we started with 1 personal foul? Not sure if it is stupid that the refs called us for the dunk (silly rule), or if it is a screw up by Ford/Allen for giving the refs the chance to call it.
-I don't have the numbers, but I am wiling to bet that we scored more points in the paint than TCU. If so, that is a good sign. Obviously, our threes weren't falling again, and this team needs to be able to score points in other ways.
-I thought that the TCU coach did a great job of game planning to beat our defense. Every time we double teamed close to the lane, his player made the extra pass and found the open man on a back cut. That could be a problem in remaining games if other coaches pick up on it and Ford doesn't adjust.
- I, also thought our gameplan was sound. Theoretically, you beat TCU if you hold them to jump shots and hold your own in rebounding. We did both. It was pretty crazy how many jumpers and FT's they swished in comparison to how they did in previous games.
-I am ready for Forte to be over his illness. He was really sucking wind out there after about 10 minutes of play.
- We did get 12 pts from the center position. In most games, that is a recipe for success.
