Cincy's president has been visiting many Big 12 presidents lately and it
has been reported Big 12 officials have held talks with BYU and Cincy.
As for what we provide here is the list. 5 of 7 seasons as Champions
with 3 of those in a BCS conference. Top 10 all time basketball program
statistically( here is the link) http://fansided.com/…/75-greatest-college-basketball-pro…/8/
. Also we have a top 35 tv market ( may have improved since last
checked).. Also our renovated stadium is opening up for the 2015 season I
will include a picture ( although not huge, vastly better than most
other choices). Renovations to our basketball arena have been announced
for the 2017-18 season. We provide a bridge for WVU with a heated
rivalry already in place. On top of it all we have a good name coach in
Tommy Tuberville who will be retiring here, and a modern history of
great coaches such as Brian Kelly, Dantonio, and Butch jones all going
to bigger jobs ( good and bad for us). Academically we have 45k students
and are a top 25 research university along with many other great
academics to add to the Big 12. http://magazine.uc.edu/favorites/rankings.html
as for our other sports we are competitive . So compared to
every other school BYU and Cincy are the obvious choices. I cannot find any other school that does can
bring nearly as much as we do, we would bolster Basketball immensely
since we are one of a handful of teams to not miss the dance the past 4
years
while playing teams like Uconn Syracuse Louisville in the Big East and
the list goes on. Also I can not remember the exact stat, but going into
this
season we are if i remember correctly the only team in the nation to
have a basketball and football championship under our belt. So please I
would like to hear your thoughts on all this, because I simply do not
see how any other school even BYU adds what we can add in BOTH
basketball
and football. As for AAU status this is the update on our progress
"Membership in the AAU is being closely scrutinized. Syracuse has
decided
to withdraw before being asked to leave as was the case with Nebraska.
Here are the reasons: Syracuse's funding is only about $30 million per
annum. Nebraska is only a little over$120 million. UC's at $443 million,
Alabama at $300 million and Boston University close behind. UC, Alabama
and BU have more research funding than 19 of the 60 current members of
the AAU (such as Brandeis, StonyBrook, Indiana University...). UC is
right at the heals of Emory in total funding. Since AAU places a focus
on
research, UC is making a strong case that we belong in the AAU"
straight from our current president Santa Ono. Thanks guys and let me
know what you guys think !

I wish we would have gotten Cincy and Louisville when we had the chance. Decent football, very good basketball. Set up NE and SW conference lines and boom....good to go.

Add Cincy, Louisville, FSU, Clemson, Pitt, and Miami.

FSU and Miami are natural rivals, WVU and Pitt already hate each other, Cincy and Louisville are good rivals.

If one doesn't want to go, try to get Memphis or VTech,

Memphis is a shitheap and prime SEC country already.

I wish we'd have gotten UofL and Cincy back a little while ago too. Would've been quality additions and nice cities.

You would be surprised how much money a championship game is worth. If the huge gap which exists between West Virginia and all the other Big
12 schools matters, then Co-AAC champions Memphis and Cincinnati are BOTH logical additions. Memphis just completed the 102nd season of the
program's history and does have successes to be proud of, including wins over the
likes of tradition-rich Alabama, Auburn, Arkansas, Florida, Florida
State, Georgia Tech, Kansas State, Miami, Miss State, Mizzou, Ole Miss,
South Carolina, Southern Cal, Tennessee, and Virginia Tech. Not only did
Memphis defeat Cincinnati (whom according to recent media articles has a
"better brand") this year, but owns a 19-13 all-time record against
them. If geography, tradition, Top 10 college football TV market, new
fertile recruiting territory in SEC land, cultural compatibility,
basketball brand, strong corporate support and fun travel destination
matter, Memphis is a viable Big 12 candidate.
