He specializes in programs selling US citizenship.

"Khizr M. Khan’s website notes that he works to help clients with the E-2 and EB-5 programs that let overseas investors buy into U.S. companies and also provides green cards for family members.

“The E-2 and EB-5 are two of the most notoriously abused visa categories that essentially allow wealthy foreigners to buy their way to U.S. residency, and possibly citizenship, with a relatively modest investment,” said Jessica Vaughan, the policy director for the Center for Immigration Studies."

Seems like that is an American policy problem more than a character issue to sling at Khan. Nothing in there reflected he's doing anything other than complying with the law to the benefit of his clients.

The lady on npr gasped during this story. Our media is such a joke.

If you grab center stage and put trump in your crosshairs what happens next is your fault.

NZ not only that, they are from Pakistan and Trump has never said that Pakistanis should be blocked from coming to the US. Can't remember if it was the dad or someone else, but they insinuated that had Trump been president back then, they would not have even been in the US. What BS.

JD, when I was looking around for a lawyer/immigration group to help navigate the paperwork to get my wife a K-1 (Fiancée Visa) did a lot of goggling and ultimately landed on 5 lawyers/groups. Called around and all but one were saying hey, just go ahead and get married they won't kick her out of the country etc etc. Basically advising me to break the law. Three of the firms/groups also specialized in E-2 & EB-5 programs so am sure they were gaming those programs as well. I settled on using a lawyer from Minnesota because she told me absolutely do not break the law, go through the process correctly and take your time. She said that if you do attempt to "game " the system they can kick your fiancée out of the country for up to 10 years.

My understanding from the lady we used was there was a ton of fraud out there and that in every program and while the chances of getting nicked were pretty slim, she said there was no substitute for doing this in a lawful manner.

Here is a nice reply to MR Khan, really doubt I could say it better..

Dear Mr. Khan,

I, like millions of Americans saw your speech at the DNC on Thursday night.

I wish to offer my sympathy for the death of your son, Captain Humayun Khan, who was killed in action in Iraq.

As a former US Army officer, and a veteran of the Gulf War, I can certainly understand the pain and anguish that you and your wife endure every day.

Your son died saving the lives of his fellow soldiers. As Jesus told his disciples, according to the Gospel of John, Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

Captain Khan is a hero. I am sure the soldiers he served with regard him as one. I know you and your wife do. Rest assured that millions of veterans regard your son as a hero as well.

To paraphrase from the Book of Ecclesiasticus, your son’s name liveth for evermore.

Your son made the ultimate sacrifice for his country, a country that was new to you and your family and one which you openly embraced and certainly love.

When you and your family arrived to America from Pakistan, you assimilated into our country. You adopted American ways, learned our history and apparently you even acquired a pocket Constitution along the way. Good for you sir.

But, there are many Muslims in America who not only have no desire to assimilate, but wish to live under Sharia Law.

That is unacceptable to Americans. There is only one law of the land. That is the U.S. Constitution.

As you well know, Mr. Khan, we live in violent times, dangerous times. Muslim madmen from ISIS and other radical Jihadi groups are on a murder and terror spree across the globe.

Your religion of peace, Islam, is anything but that in 2016. That is a fact that is confirmed every time a Muslim shoots, bombs, beheads and tortures innocent men, women and children. This does not mean that every Muslim is a terrorist, but most terrorists, sir, are indeed Muslims.

A Muslim terrorist attack has become the sign of the times.

Regardless of what the feckless, naïve, leftist ideologue Barack Obama and his dimwitted colleagues John Kerry, Francois Hollande and Angela Merkel state, the United States and the West are at war with Radical Islam. It is the job of the president of the United States to protect his nation from all enemies; foreign and domestic. Unfortunately, Mr. Obama romanticizes Islam and refuses to accept reality, which has resulted in the deaths of thousands of innocent people across the world.

Groups like ISIS and Al Qaeda have one goal, the complete destruction of the Judeo-Christian culture, our religions and our way of life.

Many Americans have families that have been here for decades, even centuries. Many families like mine have relatives who fought in the Civil War, WWI, WWII, Korea, Vietnam and Desert Storm. Some families have relatives who fought in the American Revolution.

We don’t plan on letting our country be devoured by Muslim maniacs. We are Americans sir, and not unarmed, socialist European zombies. We will do what is necessary to protect the United States. While many Democrats and liberals see the world through rose colored glasses, conservatives understand that there is good and evil in this world. Evil must be destroyed before it destroys us.

Strong measures, wartime measures, must be taken to protect this country from those that wish to annihilate us and our way of life.

Mr. Trump’s plan to temporarily halt immigration from Muslim countries that are known to either support terrorism or harbor terrorist groups is not only pragmatic, but indeed it is constitutional. It is the constitutional duty of the president of the United States to protect this nation.

There is simply no way to vet hundreds of thousands of Muslim refugees from war zones like Syria, Iraq and Afghanistan.

Europe is being destroyed because reckless leaders like Angela Merkel have opened the continent’s doors to a flood of over one million undocumented Muslims arriving with nothing more than a bad attitude and a haversack of Jihad.

Do you think Americans are stupid? While the left lives in a dream world, the right does not. Mr. Trump understands the threat to his nation and the threat, sir, is not from Swedish Lutherans named Anna and Lars. The threat, sir, is from radical Islam.

How in God’s name are U.S. immigration authorities supposed to know the true intentions of a 22-year-old Syrian man? It is impossible. You know it is impossible.

How in God’s name are U.S. immigration authorities supposed to know the true intentions of hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees and thousands of other sundry Muslims who wish to arrive on our shores?

It is impossible. You know it is impossible.

Whether you, your wife, the Muslim world and millions of Democrats are offended by Mr. Trump’s realistic view of the world is irrelevant.

Whether you, your wife and son would have been prohibited from emigrating from Pakistan to America under Mr. Trump’s wartime plan is irrelevant. The security of this great land supersedes your desires and the desires of others who wish to come here now. The United States of America has no obligation to open its doors in order to placate foreigners and liberals in our government.

To adopt any other course but Mr. Trump’s would be a cause for further endangering the lives of Americans every day. That, sir, is unacceptable.

You attacked Mr. Trump in front of a worldwide audience, yet you can’t understand the fact that he defends himself against attacks from you, Hillary Clinton and the left. What else is one to do sir?

We must live in a world of reality, not a world of denial, delusion and fantasy the Democrats inhabit every waking day of their lives.

Radical Islam is the enemy of everyone on this planet who believes in freedom and justice. Until it is destroyed, this nation must protect itself from enemies both foreign and domestic.

Sincerely,

Ray Starmann

Kahn is an opportunist and the DNC are parasites to use him this way.

Not that the pubes are much better using the Benghrazi mom, but she at least has an actual beef with their pos candidate.

Trump is sofa king stew ped that he continues to take the bait. Attacking a Gold Star family is the ultimate in jack-off-idiocy, at least until his next jack-off-idiot moment(s) which is(are) guaranteed.

JB, fortunately for Trump the real race starts in another month....he has better start talking about jobs, security and economic prosperity soon though. Forget the rest of the side shows. If he can do that I think he wins going away, if he continues to get drawn into the petty shit don't see how he can get over and stay over the hump.

I find the DNC pretty despicable group...but man they must have McCain, Ryan and McConnell on speed dial for rebuttals within their own party. Never have seen so many puss cakes in my life. Just proves they are more worried about staying elected then making any type of stand. Hopefully Ryan gets knocked off in two weeks.

Am I misremembering Ryan being well liked by conservatives prior to being speaker? Seems like a huge fall from grace for him.

Nothing would make my summer better than seeing Ryan and McCain go.

I used to not have any issues with them until they turned their backs on secure borders and advocated for wide open immigration. They've become useful idiots for the Dems.

I've never had much use for McConnell or Linsey Graham.

No argument here, but his Obamaesque arrogance always overrides the messages you outlined. He won't stop taking the bait and in my best Dick "JB" Morris voice, this election is over. VagHag in a semi-pseudo land/hill slide.

I'm kind of from the viewpoint that a lawyer's job is to advise their client on the loopholes and blindspots in the law and on the risks and rewards, cost/benefits of a particular decision. Sounds like the lawyer/advisor you went with was risk adverse, but I have no problem with a lawyer advising their client to consider loopholes in the statutes. I don't consider that advising you to break the law. I consider it taking advantage of the law as it is written.

That's just me.

He was liked by the way he sliced and diced Obama in 2010 during the Obamacare summit in DC. That helped endear him to conservatives and led to his being chosen by Romney as VP candidate. Ryan lost all that good will when he became Speaker and immediately caved in on the the Cromnibus Bill giving everything and more to Obama. A cooked linguini showed more spine than Ryan. His open border/amnesty push doesn't help.

JD, thanks for the insight....I was pretty naïve about the "law" going through the K-1 process and the subsequent process for a green card, 2 yr visa with conditions and then a 10 year with no conditions. Wanted to do everything exactly as the law required. After all that and seeing what is happening now, I'm almost to the point where the rule of law and following it is for suckers. Yes I can see where lawyers advise people what the loopholes are and how to exploit them but man what does that say about the laws then? Anyway you always have an interesting angle, so appreciate the feedback.

I absolutely agree 100% with this. It's also why it won't bother me if trump releases his tax returns and it shows he pays basically no taxes.

It was clear that he wasn't picked anonymously. He seems to have ties to all kinds of interesting shit.

He was obviously picked for "impact" which worked give Donald's cretinesque response. Hell, the only thing missing from the airwaves is the Trump jingle:

Donald takes the bait, Donald takes the bait, heigh ho the derry-o, the Donald takes the bait.

He is disrespectful to dead soldiers' families. Whether they're Muslim, Martian, drunks, punks or June Cleaver he's a mouthy, draft dodging, chickenshit. Yet another sociopathic, pussy conservative hangs himself with his own crazy. This is your party, gentlemen. Well done.

So many ways you could legitimately criticize him without sounding like a goofy cartoon.

I mean he had to send his son off to die in a war and all... clearly not an anonymous pick. Clearly rigged...
Personally I think he should be able to say what ever he wants, when he wants and Trump should just leave it alone. There is no doubt he has a financial interest in Muslim immigration so his opposition to Trump is understandable but he should be able to speak out and it is to be expected the Dems would put someone forward who dislikes Trump.

The problem I have is the despicable things the MSM and Hillary have said about Pat Smith and the other family members who have called out Hillary for lying at the casket ceremony.

Another example of liberal hypocrisy.

Agree. The difference is one candidate was directly responsible for a preventable death and then lied to the grieving mother's face.

Kahn merely disagrees with the other candidate's politics.

Trump did a shitty job of getting baited into the discussion though. As usual.

And giving Michael Brown's mother a forum to repeat the authenticated and discredited lies which led to the Ferguson riots.
