Restricting guns will do very little, there are just to many guns in the world. We can't stop kids from getting heroin how do you expect to keep them from guns? Actually saw a Democrat earlier today that scoffed at airport type security at schools, said gun control was the answer.

This makes a lot more sense to me.

Yep. Controlled access and armed protection are the answer. Do we actually want to protect kids or score political victories? We can ban "assault rifles" today and it won't do anything to prevent the guy that already owns 3 from shooting up a school next week. We can institute physical access control and armed security today and when that guy with 3 "assault rifles" tries to shoot up a school he a)can't get in to shoot it up and/or b)gets shot to death while trying.

I think there are a lot of complicated parts to this. Will teachers receive a pay raise now that they are also armed bodyguards? Does every teacher who is licensed to carry get one and bring it to work? Just a handful? Who gets to decide?

Take a few billion off the defense budget and hire tens of thousands of security guards. Pretty simple.
This mindset moves me. Many schools have school resource officers and some districts even have their own police departments. You probably don't need to literally fill the halls with armed people if some of those billions were used for physical safeguards, but having a few armed persons certainly creates an additional barrier and deterrent.

Well, one place to start would have been if the NRA didn't teach the mass murderer how to shoot. So there's that.

Total bunch of bullsh!t. The kid was in ROTC and they use an NRA sponsored gun safety program. Would you have them do away with high school ROTC, gun safety programs?

It's this kind of fake news from the left that makes them look like morons to the majority of rational people.
