It looks like we are struggling but I think our coaches have a purpose. Why do I think that? Well, yesterday we showed that if we know we have to pass the ball the whole game to win we have the ability to do so. Gundy still wants to work on the run game for tougher teams later in the season but if we have to pass 75% of the time, we can and will.
The defensive side is still our bread and butter. I do not believe Spencer has made a single half time adjustment yet. I think he knows before each game exactly how he is going to play 2nd half. We just line up and play base first half to measure our personnel against theirs and then second half he turns the dogs loose. I have been thinking this for a few games but yesterday was proof positive. K St is as predictable on offense as the sun rise. They did little different in the first half than they have done for years. We already knew before game time what we would do second half. I was complaining 1st half that we should have been prepared for everything they ran. 2nd half we played the type of defense I was expecting. Is everyone starting to see the pattern?
It is obvious we still have deficiencies at OL andf RB. DT and safety play has exceeded expectations. Our ability to close the season will depend on how well we can cover our deficiencies and play to our strength. November will be a hoot.
