The whole unsecured server thing?

Is there a difference between conducting government business through highly secured means and tweeting through less secured means? I thought Obama had an iPhone for tweeting and other non-official stuff. Isn't this the same thing as that?

He only tweets from it, correct? No phone calls, emails or texts?

Do any of you have a source for this?

Oh, I'm sure there's the occasional "Okay Google, Who is the biggest, bipolar dweeb on OSI Twenty-four Seven?" search in order to get a good laugh at your expense.

Oh the outrage. For years and years. My God, how could she? The SECRETARY OF STATE.

UNSECURED!!!

WHAT IF?!?!?!?

A what? Phone? Oh, he was only tweeting with it. How do I know that? Because Syskatine pointed it out, so he only tweets with it.

Hillary was absolutely allowed to have her own server. And the president can have his own server, phone, blackberry, whatever. However, to ensure proper data controls and security and to adhere to federal regulations, government business should only be done via government sanctioned devices. That said, even if its only tweeting, there could be an argument that as President, everything he does is government business. Although, that's not the argument that you've presented.

These talk about his new phone, I can't find the article I read last week that said he would have a 2nd phone for personal tweets, but his other phone is for secure calls and email.

While Trump's new device is unknown, it could be an iPhone if he follows in the steps of his predecessor. Barack Obama was the first U.S. president to carry a cellphone, initially starting with a modified BlackBerry, later migrating to an iPhone.

Obama's iPhone had its own restrictions, such as a limited number of people he could exchange email with. One benefit, though, is that it was the only device with access to the @POTUS Twitter account.

That's one I typed.....specifically with his threat to send in Feds to Chicago and the Mexico comments and others.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one to at least consider that possibility.
