One pundit says a committee infiltrated by Nazism was responsible for isolationist policy and another left leaning publication wants to point out how much our ally Churchill and his government infiltrated American culture and politics to try and squash isolationist ideas implying that we were manipulated into war.

Maybe both happened... But using them both as analogies to the heinousness that is Trump is a confusing message.
