The President vs the Free Press

The problem with Acosta is that he’s not as much of a reporter as he is an attention whore and and an aspiring debater. If he wants to debate Trump, the best way to do that would be to get the Democratic presidential nomination. And frankly, I think it’s within reach for him.

It’s a journalist’s job to debate. If a journalist can’t debate a president, that’s not democracy, that’s a dictatorship. Period.

You’ve lost your mind if you actually believe that BS

Lol

If I were Trump I'd say that the White House doesn't give out a press pass to the Onion since they don't report the news. So, Acosta you don't get one either.

***prefers his beloved dictator get tossed the softballs, like what he had for lunch or who styles his hairpiece***

Nope. Ask all the tough questions you want. But you don't get to interrupt and ask multiple follow up questions. Also you don't get to set and pontificate in the form of a question.

You’re holding Acosta to a high standard, yet no criticism of Trump’s behavior. He’s the President of the United States. Argument rings hollow

I'm not holding Acosta to any standard that I don't also hold any other White House credentialed reporter.
It isn't the reporter's job to lecture or give their opinion on a topic.

CNN can send a real reporter if they want to be a part of the press pool.

I don’t necessarily agree with what Trump did but freedom of the press and freedom of speech does not give anyone the right to be a disruptive prick with no consequences.

As stated before he is not there to ask questions he is there to draw lines in the sand and make it all about him.

If he wants to do so he is more than welcome to become a commentator like Sean Hannity, Don Lemon, etc

However as a reporter he is way out of line and he got punished for it today. Fine by me

And before anyone deflects off topic I am fully aware that Donald Trump is a raging asshole

Trump fielded 68 questions from 35 reporters at today's presser. 90 questions including follow-ups.

I’m currently in a “ignore the news due to the midterms and the impending Bedlam Beatdown” cycle, so forgive me but what is Sarah Sanders talking about that supposedly got Acosta’s credentials pulled?

He told several to sit down, called them a “rude, terrible person”.

Not every reporter is gonna fondle his balls like Hannity. Sorry not sorry.
Members of the press who aren't consistent grandstanders like Jim Acosta have, on more than one occasion, commented that Trump is many times more accessible to the press than his predecessor.

Acosta is an activist who would’ve been shot in the head by the secret police of any actual anti-free press dictator. Obviously.

He’s not a journalist and a journalist’s job is not to debate or become the story. It’s to ask Hard questions and at least appear to be impartial.

That room was full of corporate media hacks - FOX included. Let’s not insult anyone’s intelligence and refer to them as anything else.

Acosta: asks about pipe bombs sent to CNN
Trump: “when you report fake news, you are the enemy of the people”

Conservatives: Pom poms

But Trump doesn’t incite violence...nahhhhh

There was a lady moving the microphone around to the different reporters. Acosta wouldn’t give up the mike. It was hard to see what he did to the lady but you could tell by the other people around him he was being a dick about it.

What did you think of Trump’s behavior?
