Not the biggest crowd last night but it was still a solid mid week crowd against a small name opponent (although I actually think ORU is pretty good). I also think that it is worth pointing out that the weather was really crappy as well. Had a pretty shitty time driving out of it, which I knew was going to happen beforehand. I'm sure I'm not the only one and I'm sure it kept a lot of people back from the game.
The students were loud and the crowd was engaged for the entire game. It was great seeing Mitchell Solomon, Matt Holiday and Josh in the crowd. They all got big cheers. They had asked Kenny Jr. to be the Pistol Pete partner of the game, which would have actually gotten the biggest cheers, but Kenny Jr. turned them down when they refused to let him shoot Pete's shotgun.
I don't know what it is but there's an energy around the basketball team right now. It's not just at the games. It seems to be around the campus.The big time recruits have only exacerbated this energy. Can't wait to make it to a few more games this year. After last night, I've definitely decided that next year we'll get season tickets. I might only make it to 3-4 games with our schedule but this team deserves the support.
