I, like many of you, haven't been supporting this team like in years past. I went to every game, minus some exhibition games while I was in school (09-13), and have had season tickets since graduating, but didn't re-up this year. It was not for financial reasons, or family obligations, it was because I simply didn't feel like making the easy 1 hour drive from Tulsa to watch us lose. That is a pitiful excuse!
Well all of that has changed. You can call me a bandwagon or whatever you want, but after watching this team fight tooth and nail against OU and Texas coming up just short, and to see them finally have their hard work pay off last night, it has changed my view on the situation. The smiles on their faces as they were running Self's Jayhawks out of GIA made me realize that these kids need my/our support.
Whether you like our coaches and AD or not, go to some games to support these student athletes. Evans is special, we all know that - He's worth the price of admission alone.
I hope to see some of you join me in catching a few games in GIA!
