A lot of angst being demonstrated over the offense we have seen in the first 2 games. I think it is worth pointing out that we have broken 100 points scored in both games. Some of last night's games have not yet been entered into the official stats on the NCAA web site, but I am pretty sure that there is not more than about 25 teams that are averaging over 100 ppg this season. And don't hit me with the "Yeah but look who we have played" comments. Plenty of teams have only played 1 game, or 2 games, against weak opponents.

While I agree with all of the comments about poor execution on the offensive end, and the team looking a lot like what we saw under Ford, I think it should also be noted that these guys have been able to overcome these issues, and that bodes well for the rest of the season.

It has not been pretty, and a lot of points have come from guys having success (mostly Evans) when trying to get it done by themselves. A lot of points have come from the FT line as well.

I understand that the teams we play against are going to get bigger and more athletic. I understand that the defenses we play against are going to get better. But, I also expect our offensive execution to improve. Underwood is going to get these guys doing what he wants them to do. The players are going to develop better chemistry and figure out what their individual roles are.

The offense is going to be just fine. IMO, the key will be getting these guys to play significantly better defense without fouling, and getting them into an aggressive rebounding mindset. Do those two things, and we are going to come out on top in most of the games we play.
