Been Jammin

I know it is easy to lose our first 2 offensive possessions in the quagmire of feces that we saw from the offense after the first quarter. But, the offense was really humming early, and I have to assume that the same person/people was/were calling the plays throughout the entire. game. Now, I can certainly think of multiple reasons for the disparity, and figure that some or all of the following reasons can explain it.
  • The first 2 series were scripted and not called on the fly
  • Mason is a young QB and young QBs are going to be inconsistent
  • The UT defense made adjustments to what we were doing early
  • We just got lucky early on
  • Mason really was hurt and this had an effect on his play later in the game
  • Other factors not listed
With all of that taken into consideration, I think it is worth pointing out that the team/coaches have the ability to put a very productive offense on the field. We all saw it. Maybe Mason can be more consistent as he gains experience/confidence. Maybe the coach/coaches can get a clue and do a better job with play calling.
If improvement is made, on both ends, this team is going to be good enough to beat any team remaining on their schedule.
