It will be interesting to see how Boren handles this one. Channel 4 is reporting this morning that the N word was exchanged between to uo basketball players as they were celebrating their victory over Dayton. Apparently it was used "affectionately" as coach Lon Kruger said it was unfortunate and would be addressed at a team meeting.

I believe we talked about this a few weeks ago when the SAE incident occurred that blacks use this term all of the time. Still, if it is offensive to some, it should not be used at all. Or, is it OK to use a discriminatory word in a non-discriminatory fashion?
Is it OK for blacks to use the word but not whites? Is it the word that is demeaning or the tone that it is said? How can the word ever die if blacks are going to keep using it? Do we have to have a court ruling to figure this out?
