The Importance Of Climate Change Skeptics

Republicans in power could do something about such a lack of a grid, but where could we get some of that money? Ooooooh how about those hundreds of millions in favorable taxes and incentives we give to oil and gas?

I’m sure that’ll happen with a Republican Oklahoma government, right?
You should actually educate yourself and get your facts straight. Wind gets WAY more incentives and tax breaks from the government than oil in gas in Oklahoma. the amount of taxes paid by wind is tiny in comparison to what the oil and gas industry pays. Just in OK's zero emission subsidy, we are going to pay over $250 million to the wind industry. in 2019 it will probably be close to $350 million. Oh and those ad valorem property tax incentives. OK did not just say that wind doesn't have to pay them, they said that they OK government would pay them FOR the wind industry to the tune of over $50 million in 2018. And anticipated to grow to almost $100 million in 2019.

Man, I have no idea how to explain this to you more clearly than this. After all the incentives and tax reimbursements, wind generates zero tax revenue to the state. None, nadda, zip zilch. How can you say that and industry that pays nothing doesn't have better tax incentives than an industry that pays BILLIONS in taxes?

His undeniable proof usually includes such evidence as, "its BS and you know it".

All any of us who regularly argue with him can tell you is this, he either can't or won't accept any information that doesn't fit his programming. Its a lost cause to try.

***buys into the BS lol***

Did you just try to insult me by calling me a billionaire that was a technology pioneer in the oil and gas industry? You cannot even realize that your insults are backwards.

Who wants nothing more than the complete destruction of the Oklahoma wind energy industry...even going so far to create his own “coalition”...deal with it lol

Not happening lol...and I’m handing you clowns your asses on a platter and you can’t handle it
I know you have demorlaized me by rebutting all of my numbers and facts with such classics as "bullshit and you know it.... lol" and the hall of fame post of "ok Harold Hamme lol." I am going to go put some whiskey on my wounds now.

Weird how everything comes full circle jerk for you guys lol

Head stuck in ass got it lol
It would be more appropriate, CSCOTT, if you would read the link before commenting. The article says very little about the truth or untruth of climate change. The article shows the way science can be perverted and become something that is the opposite of science, and it uses "climate science" as an example.

The problem I encounter with you is that so often you seem to assume you know what someone is saying without bothering to listen. You jump to a conclusion that is contrary to the purpose of the post and manage to pervert it into something else. You have managed to turn this post into a typical competition to see who can offer up the greatest insult. It becomes so tiresome. Frankly I am amazed that you don't get sick of it. I often wonder how much longer you can keep it up.

I wish you would have bothered to read the article. I recognize that you are more intelligent than you seem to want people on this board to know. I think you could have made a meaningful comment or two, something that would actually have contributed positively. It baffles me that you enjoy such juvenile behavior.

Oil and gas has done little to nothing to accept the realities of the industry...it’s dangerous, it’s wasteful and its competition is catching up

First off, I believe that human activity does adversely effect the climate, but, that is not why I am posting on this thread. This article does make some good and I am sure accurate points, but, there is also a lot at stake monetarily for the other side, probably much more at stake. Both sides have a lot to lose, or gain , so it is very difficult to know what is true and accurate. Like any scientific idea there has to be skeptics, that is what ensures accuracy. When Albert Einstein published his General Theory of relativity he welcomed skeptics and embraced them , that is how you ensure accuracy.

The point is that skeptics aren't welcome in the world of man-made climate change science. In fact, they are aggressively shunned politically and monitarily. If that doesn't cause you to be highly suspicious, you'll likely believe anything (not you specifically, people in general).

Huh? Skeptics in climate change science are often industry-funded...and when I say often it’s VERY often.

And you can’t whine about politics when Trump is the climate-denier-in-Chief and coddles coal oil and gas lol

And you have a point here?

The entire point is that science needs skeptics since they make the science better. So by that logic the industries that fund skepticism are making the science better.

Cool, huh?
