Not one problem with it. Marksmanship used to be institutionally taught all the time. There's a federal civilian marksmanship program that used to hand out surplus garands.
My beef is rapid fire, high capacity guns that give any simpleton or gangsta the instant power to kill 25 people.
The world has changed. In high school we used to dove hunt before and after school and carry our shotguns in our trucks and nobody said a thing. Nobody knew what an AR was, either. I remember eating bfast at a table of Vietnam vets in the early 80'sish and someone mentioned seeing either an AK or AR at a gun show and the prevailing sentiment was that was nuts, what practical reason is there for having that kind of firepower? That always stuck with me. They were right, since then the AR has been in a disproportionate amount of mass shootings and taken on its own iconography.
