Smart move on their part. Hopefully, Brandon was going to retaliate in someway or the other by wiping out some operations. When we were in Mexico for my daughter’s wedding last April, we were told that the cartels were instructed not to mess with tourism or tourists. If they abided, they would be left alone. it’s still not 100% safe for Americans to travel there, obviously, due to all the other criminals.

Wife and her sister went down to Cozumel in January to go scuba diving. They were told by every taxi driver not to take the ferry over to Cancun because the Cartels have taken over and it's not safe for anyone. Cozumel hasn't seen the Cartel violence like Cancun but who knows how much longer that lasts.

It's too bad Mexico can't handle this like Cuba, the safest country in the Caribbean. They can't risk losing one tourism dollar to crime. Heck, crimes involving foreigners like robbery and prostitution can put a Cuban away for 35 years.

The Americans need to very cautious in how they get involved with this. Aside from drone strikes and assistance, you don't want our boys running around in this mess. The first American taken POW and then having his eyes carved out, legs cut off, a box knife shoved down his throat, testicles cut off and then dumped in a hole....and THEN the video released on the internet.....that will not go over well.

So, you want Mexico to become a Communist totalitarian state so they can take on the cartels? Or maybe they can just report the number that make them look good like Cuba does as well. How about this Mexico can just enforce the laws as brutally as the cartels do like Cuba does.
