The Caravan

It happens every year, literally. It is normal for those in grave situations to flee their countries of origin. It is up to those countries along the way to enforce their own laws, just like ours should be enforced correctly.

I didn't remember this happening last year.

Any examples before Trump was President?

There aren’t very many stories about it before trump became president because he and his amplifiers weren’t ginning you guys up about it. This story describes the beast as it is called derailing in 2013. That same train continues to bring refugees every year. It’s a crazy sight to behold. Things have only gotten worse in the Central American countries since then, they people are so desperate to leave they believe fairytales of how easy it is to get into America that they head this way after paying hefty fees along the way. It’s not a great way to live.

Gotcha. I already know about "The Beast" and people from Central America migrating to the US because of their terrible conditions. Did large caravans happen before the 2016 election? Also, this caravan appears to be receiving assistance during the long journey.

This group is going to time their attempted entrance into the US sometime the weekend before the mid-terms. They will want to make Trump, Republicans and conservatives look like crap by pushing these cretins around and arresting them.

I have a couple of questions for those who are more in the know and also have a sense of the legalities of this situation.

1) Based on things I have read (in all honesty it's been brief) the violence in Guatemala is primarily from gangs and drug cartels. Based on the different reasons from the United States Citizenship and Imigration Services websites, there are only 5 reasons given that one can seek asylum:
-Race
-Religion
-Nationality
-Membership in a particular social group
-Political Opinion

If these gangs and cartels are killing with no sense of reason, legally, what basis do these migrants have for seeking asylum?

https://www.uscis.gov/humanitarian/refugees-asylum/asylum

2) If the migrants are truly looking to better their life and protect their families, would they not seek the first country to become a safe haven? They would have to go all the way through Mexico and think, "yes, this place won't do either, onward we go a few more thousand miles to the US"

I read 80% of asylum cases are lost

I would assume that a large majority of these cases would be denied. But what happens to these people? 7,000 people just walk on back to their home country? Does the media just forget about this story post midterms?

In my biased opinion, the optics of that many people coming towards the border doesn't seem like the best picture for Dems. Take out any theories of these people being paid, a wall might look pretty appealing for concerned citizens that were "on the fence" about a border wall.

At the same time, Trump is definitely using this as a campaign issue FOR MAGA candidates...effectively too.

I’m just contrary enough to consider the possibility of this being a false flag action as I am it being a leftist organized action.

Or, maybe it is neither. Maybe it is actually people fleeing a terrible situation and seeking a safe haven.

Good to see a logical thinker in this thread.

Regardless of which party is trying to use this, or even if both are, I don't want anyone coming across that hasn't been properly vetted.

We should escort them to Portland and let them settle around @davidallen. He’s boasted about being aware of his “white privilege” daily. What a good way for him to repent.
Yep. I say split em up evenly and drop them off in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Portland, Seattle, NYC and boofabears hood. Everybody should be happy as clams.

that’s what i been thinking about the steele dossier and fisa court surveillance

trump used brennon and comey in conjunction with brasile lynch and the russians to set up the entire DNC and hillary.

on the heels of planting blasse ford and getting his predator
supreme court justice kavanaugh thru confirmation hearings

trump now has 7000 guatemalans headed for the border

the man is brilliant
