McComas, the OB basketball reporter, says a search firm reached out to Jay Wright and Tony Bennett and both said no thanks. Marshall was interviewed but it doent look like he will take the job. He is reporting that the administration feels like a 3 million salary is as high as they should have to go.
Now it's looking like Shaka Smart is the target.
I believe they are finding out that the UT job isn't as coveted as they all thought. Sound familiar? No it's not a top 10 job like all the posters thought it was.
With Patterson's ties to the NBA I won't be surprised if they end up taking a flyer on an NBA retread if Smart and Utah's Larry krystkowiak turn them down.
