The "Old" right is going to come out of all of this as the winners. Almost to the point that it makes you wonder if the entire Alt Right movement wasn't planned by them in the first place. Create a group so bat shit crazy that even the most controversial of your viewpoints seem benign in comparison. The most insane of your members seem stately and wise.
It all depends on who's f*cking the dog, and who's just holding its head still.
Over whether it was terrorism?
There is a thread on this board debating it. The President himself seemed reluctant to label it as terrorism. Give it another week. I think you'll start seeing a push from the fringe of the alt right to label it as simple murder, or suggest he was only protecting himself, or was just sick. I posted yesterday that i was seeing those themes dribbling out of twitter, and today we are seeing it dribble onto this board.
Although terrorism is a very safe assumption, it doesn't mean it's the only possibility. You saw me post about that, and I'm a little far removed from alt-right. If he had plowed into a crowd of dark skinned folks, probably a slam dunk on terrorism without any question. I don't expect the current majority view to be wrong at all, but very little information has been released thus far.

I didn't have any issue with what was said in the other thread, just pointing out that some are debating it. You just asked if there was any possible chance chance he was attacked, and if it was all an accident. Nothing wrong with asking a question.
My fringe of the alt right remark wasn't referring to you. It was referring to the fact that a couple of nights ago I went down a rabbit hole on twitter of some extreme fringe alt right/ white supremacist accounts that were stating for a fact, that he was attacked by ANTIFA, and was fleeing for his life and accidentally hit those people. Not questioning if it could be the case, but stating for a fact that it happened and making him out to be a victim and a hero The message was worded exactly the same, by multiple accounts that posted nothing but extreme alt right and white supremacist crap. Made me think at that time that someone sent out some marching orders to spread that message.
I didn't mean that you were in that group that was deliberately spreading it as fact. Only that I think that the message has started to float around to the point that sensible people are hearing others mention it, and themselves ask if its possible. Which, it is not COMPLETELY impossible that it happened, but sure doesn't look like it from the videos.
Thanks for the reply. I have not watched the videos. I tend to purposely not watch stuff like that because I see the aftermath enough at work. I'll check them out though.
I watched all the videos I could find. None of them showed a view of what occurred before he hit the crowd. After he hit the crowd and starting backing up, it's very clear there were plenty of folks with blunt weapons like bats there. They started hitting the car once he stopped. Most likely reaction to what just took place in my opinion, but the possibility that he was attempting to flee a crowd armed with blunt weapons is still possible.
@Cowpoke, do you know of any video that shows his vehicle prior to taking off into the crowd?
The cars in front of him driving slowly don't seem particularly alarmed, nor attacked. The crowd doesn't look like any scary mob. Looks like a bunch of suburbanite college age kids.
Had not seen this video. Looks pretty clear that he came from an area without many people at all and accelerated into a crowd. Looks like terrorism. Thanks for posting that.

No doubt. If its illegal, its illegal, protesting or not. Same punishment for throwing brick through a window in a mall on a random Tuesday as throwing one through a window during a protest.
