Teachers Running for Office In OK...

Just casually following those particular election....a mixed bag.
Some got elected, but all the incumbents that voted against the teacher pay raise and survived the primary were re-elected. I think the teacher thing also got Chelsey Brannum (D) elected in my District. First time we have a Dem. State Rep. since the District was formed by reapportionment in the 60s.

Maybe, but the walkout was also a catalyst that led many of them to run in the first place.
I know our state representative lost in the Republican primary due to his lack of support for the teachers. I hope our state Senator does too when she comes back up for re-election, although I have my doubts.
I saw them standing on the corner with signs, I yelled at them to go to work that they looked like prostitutes.
They should have refused to sign their 2018-2019 contract and not started the school year vs the walk out. But that's just my 2 cents from a husband of a former teacher/principle.
My response would be the same....maybe.
I dunno nor do I have a strong opinion either way.
