This is a true story. I'm going to omit the details about our driver's New York attitude, our angry co passengers, the 1hour lines at the ticket agent and taxi line. Here goes!
Our Vacation time is over. Yesterday We were on our way home from France, but wait! Our flight arrived at JFK only 1 hour before the connecting flight to LAX. The Baggage conveyor broke, the Automated passport terminals were down. Impacting 3 different flights and about 500 travelers. Needless to say we didn't make the connecting flight. Rebooked a flight for the next day (today) and got a hotel voucher to a Holiday Inn express. But wait the ticket agent sent us to the wrong holiday inn Express. No worries we take a cab to the right Holiday inn Express in Manhattan. 1 hour cab ride (don't take the Van Wyck! It was closed). 1 other closure / detour and a traffic accident later we get to the right Holiday Inn express. But wait! this holiday inn express is out of rooms. No worries "they" have an arrangement with the Comfort Inn next door. They will have "Security" walk us next door. Wait, what? Security? This is Manhattan. "Yeah let us walk you. It's 1 AM. " We get there and sure enough they are accommodating the displaced AA travelers. We just have to stand in line with 30 others to get 1 of the 14 rooms. That hotel clerk was having some colorful conversations with her travel weary guests our heads hit the pillow at 2 am. Come Monday me and the American Airline customer service rep will be having quite the conversation. I think I will start out at the beginning of the trip. The part where they 'misplaced' our luggage for 2 days and when we did get it on the third day, it was wet. It had been left out in the rain. Let's see what today brings.
