Stonewall Uprising: The beginning of PRIDE.

Agreed.

Christians believe that we are born into sin and are shamed by committing deviant acts, are taught to resist the sin, and to repent.

People who are not Christians or, I’ll say it like this, Hedonists, do not care if it’s a deviant act is a sin or not and feel free to act as they want with no shame.

Well that’s not exactly what I said, but okay.

I’ll just point out that plenty of Christians definitely don’t practice what you’re preaching (not using that term in a derogatory manner) and see if you agree with that too.

And you don’t necessarily have to be a Christian to believe all humans are by nature prone to commit wrongs, nevertheless feel shame for the wrongs they commit, believe the best path in life is to resist committing wrongful acts and repent and seek to make amends for their wrongful acts.

It’s not really a Christian/non-Christian line in my opinion.

Oh certainly.

But I don’t think you’ll see Christians trying to come out and say that their actions - be it drug use, alcoholism, porn addiction, theft, adultery or even murder - are or should be acceptable like gays are today. Should we be tolerant of those things?

To be honest, as crazy as it sounds, America really is tolerant of some of those things already!

I don’t know about that (Christians not coming out publicly in favor of sin….I see a whole lot of greed is good promotion from some Christians…greed is a sin, right? I see a whole lot of self promotion from some Christians….isn’t vanity or pride a sin?), but accepting arguendo you are right on that, what it really boils down to is you believe homosexuality is a deviancy in and of its self so all homosexuals should be ashamed of themselves from the get go.

I mean you are comparing homosexuality to murder in the “shame/tolerance scale” at this point.

And homosexuals and even some Christians don’t necessarily believe it is a sin.

Not to mention those are all sins of commission. They conveniently overlook sins of omission. You know, like failing to treat all humans as God's beloved.

James 4:17, “therefore, to one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, to him it is sin.”
