I looked this up. It depends on if you were caught sneaking in, asking for asylum when you are caught, or asking for asylum at a point of entry. You can request to be let go back to your country, but once you are in the system you can’t just walk out. I couldn’t find any stats on denials/approvals.
Well that’s a pretty shitty concentration camp policy.
