Let's take it easy on the dang ref and be honest. This is a tough, tough sport to officiate. These guys work hard. They also screw up. Sometimes it breaks our way and sometimes it doesn't. IMHO that's one of the things that makes this sport so infuriatingly entertaining.
I love the raised mat. Added a feeling of importance and grit to this dual which was sorely needed.
I saw a bunch of different attendance numbers and I don't know which was accurate, but kudos to everyone who showed up and supported. Also kudos to the folks who promoted this thing. Keep it up guys.
For a Cowboy who has to cheer from a distance, the only thing I have is the live video feed. Please get a professional to produce those things. Please. Too many times we go to a replay when there's action happening on the mat. And why do we cut to the stock OSU brand when we could show the coaches talking to the refs or a wrestler getting prepped to go back on the mat or anything other than a graphic?
Our wrestlers are improving ..greatly. We wrestled well today and deserve a quick pat on the back. All of the folks who were worked up after the Iowa dual and calling for John's head should write this down and remember it next year when we don't look like world beaters in December.
We need to improve .greatly. I love how we went out and took it to them early in most every match, but we need to wrestle the entire 7 minutes. Iowa looks to be the favorite in March, but we can be right there with them if wrestle like we did today for the ENTIRE tourney.
Crutchmer is the man. I don't care if he lost. He is in every match he wrestles and will impress in St. Louis.
Hate to see Kindig go out like that in his last home match. Kid is tough as nails and has overcome some serious adversity. I hope that loss doesn't hurt his seeding too bad.
Props to Eddie for wrestling till the end, to Heil for wrestling smart, to Collica for setting a tone, to Dieringer for leading by example, to Nolan for slowing down and wrestling for the team, and to Austin for not forcing me to drink on a Sunday.
Sorry for the rant .
