I don't think anyone can realistically predict what help we will get from new players signed or will sign for next year. We all hope that we luck out with a couple kids ready to contribute by conference time.
Everyone returning should improve in varying degrees from last year.
The one guy that could mean additional wins from the past year is Mitch. I know the common belief is that he either sucks out loud, wasted of playing time, or similar thoughts.
I don't know the kid and admit he has been a non factor but I can't give up on him. He seems to be a bright kid that gives effort but appears to have never been coached. He averaged 3.5 rebs and points per game which for a soph is not good. When you watch him on the court he appears robotic. He knows on a certain play that he needs to pick a defender and even if he is late or out of position he is going to pick the defender and fouls him. On defense he is so worried about his man that he commits rule number 1 know where the ball is at all times.
If he can be taught to play and not think he will improve.
How many games would we have won this year if he averaged 8 and 8. I can think of 3 or 4 more at home.
Underwood likes to take the ball to the hole as much as possible. Can Mitch learn to be a trash man and get 3 or 4 put backs every game?
