Will it? Nope, it starts out with a meme describing exactly what I did in my first response to you. Look a truly Socialist society is a pie dream, that doesn’t mean we can’t take some of the good ideas socialism has fostered and apply them to our capitalist democratic republic.

One thing I might point out to you is this: after a century of several dozen countries implementing what they called socialism - insisted they were implementing “real” socialism - which has resulted in the deaths of hundreds of millions of people via starvation, torture, war, imprisonment in death camps, work camps, gulags, etc., it is time for you to understand that the “authoritarian” socialism IS the “real” socialism.
It’s not. It’s fascist authoritarianism. Socialism has never truly existed on this earth, and I doubt it ever will.

It’s almost as if our system of government is cobbled together from the best parts of other failed systems of government. It’s almost like we adapt and evolve as we grow older, if not we die .

The other day you said you are a reformed libertarian. I asked you what you had reformed into, but you never answered. Am I to understand you are now a socialist or a "democratic" socialist? I'm trying to understand with whom I'm conversing.

Did you read the link in the "Real" Socialism post? Can you answer his question? Was the fascism practiced by Mussolini real fascism? He slaughtered thousands of innocent people, imprisoned and tortured thousands more. Yet none of those evil practices were advocated by his statements before coming to power. He was going to be a man of the people! The principles espoused by "real" fascism do not correlate with what he did once in power. So is it fair to say his "authoritarian" fascism was not "real" fascism?
I’m pokeabear nice to meet you, I’m a registered Independent, I don’t like labels or belonging to a “team” beyond Oklahoma State and America. I vote my conscience and I decide on my positions on a per position basis. You can try and define more/better but I don’t really fit in any category beside patriotic/loyal/weirdo.
Under a socialistic country, do you think those firefighters would have had better communication devices or worse then the ones that they got from VZ? Was there an issue with the AT&T phones?
the point I was making is to their internet being throttled by a corporation which was the worry after the fcc rolled back the consumer protections regarding net nutraility. The socialism sprinkled in here is everyone has the same right to the Internet if they have paid for or have been given that access

If the vendor provided what they bought, then it is no different than their department buying a cheaper axe that lost its edge too quickly and made it hard for them to do their job at a critical moment.
Verizon throttled their access to the internet, that did not happen before the FCC rolled back consumer protections. The old way was a form of socialism this new way is purely capitalist.
Can socialism be done with out killing lots of people. Reasonable people can disagree, but there is an argument for yes.

How much bandwidth should a vendor be required to maintain in any location where an emergency can occur (which is pretty much anywhere in the US)?
If they cannot throttle back the usage, will they be fined for insufficient equipment capacity if calls and / or data transfers are either delayed or blocked altogether due to the lack of capacity?
Absolutely. I don't think that humans are infallible enough to make that happen though. We are bad enough when the power is somewhat spread out.
I’m not near qualified enough to give a truly informed opinion. This is a known known, it’s a giant fire that lasts for more than 1 day. What I’m saying is they can pull from places that don’t need as much on the days other places need more if that’s even a problem. Natural Disaters and Emergencies should always be given deferential treatment regardless of the medium.
Thats why nazis get kicked off of social media as hate speech and socialists don't.
Right, but to give the firefighters that capacity add, VZ would need the power to throttle someone else.. Netflix or something, which actually would have been a much better choice.
I don't know how quickly VZ could have increased their bandwidth, but I am with you that the firefighters definitely need to have the best tools at the those times.

I have never met a Nazi. But I have met several people who are in fact, fascists, without realizing that they fall in that category.
Interesting point of view! I'm curious how you come by it. Both philosophies, when put into practice, cannot function properly without unquestioned compliance from the masses. Disobedience cannot be tolerated. It is a requirement for either philosophy to work. In your mind how would a socialist society escape the evolution into tyranny as long as there are people like me who would not want to live under such a system? How would a socialist society handle a person such as me? In what way would it be different from what a fascist society would do with me?
This is where a Government only high speed network or the ability for the government to takeover existing infrastructure to aid those serving in national emergencies would be nice/ideal. The bandwidth is out there or the government could provide it in an emergency if we allowed them.
