If it comes to fruition. Is it going to the gov't coffers or the people who's lives were actually affected? My guess is the former and also guess this topic will stray within 2 posts to blaming the other side.

Side note, I don't live in Oklahoma and have only seen that a suit was filed.

Did you see the market for pharmaceuticals after this ruling? All the Opiod makers jumped.

The dollar amount seems low to me based on the amount of damage.

The money is suppossed to be used for drug rehabilitation programs. I'm sure some politically connected companies will figure out how to cash in.

It is my understanding that our AG redused to put a dollar cap on what the lawyers could collect like other states have done so I bet this was a 100 to a 150+ million payday for them.

It will get modified, settled or thrown out before all is said and done. J&J has already said they will appeal so the stage is set for a settlement IMHO. Makes me wonder though, who makes the medication for the drug rehab centers that help get people over the hump of cravings?

Headhunter not shocked that the lawyers would get anywhere from 1/6th to 1/4 of the settlement.

A lot of the other state AG's made the lawyers cap their fees in the 20 to 30 million range.

Hunter is in the pocket of the state trial lawyers. I supported his Republican opponent who did want to cap attorney fees for these large state cases.

Lawyers went and got 500 + mm for the state, and people will bitch about them getting paid. I don't see anybody else wiling to spend their time and money to get after J&J.

Biff has been kissing their ass lately. Guess publicizing that they deliberately lied and helped addict people was just too appetizing for Biff to remain quiet.

The other states have plenty of lawyers willing to work for a 20 million pay day, can you explain to me why Oklahoma should pay 5× that?

And please leave out the childish snarky comments and silly President nick names. He doesnt have one thing to do with this lawsuit and settlement. Obsess over him in another thread. Keep it on the adult level if possible, you know like a real lawyer would.
