How does Biff hire someone as campaign manager that, if the allegations in the charges and affidavit are true, is such a greedy, clumsy con artist? Now he's accused of defrauding a Russian billionaire.

Great judge of character, Biff.

The Russian dude is going about this all wrong. Why not report this to the FBI and let Mueller have at it? Or did that already happen and I missed it?

Maybe he did? Maybe he squealed and helped them build the case? Despite the right wing mantra, nobody knows what Mueller knows. He hasn't said anything beyond filing charges.

Manafort sure isn't flipping.

Maybe. Nothing is as awesome as having the feds do the grunt work for you and imprisioning the target of your ire. But then, a civil suit would not be necessary as the judge would order restitution with the weight of the federal government to back up the restitution order. Assuming a conviction is obtained, of course.

Betting on a pardon? Quite the gambit.

If that were true it would be catastrophic to many, including me. Funny thing is, if allegations against Trump were proven true, it would be just another day for his base.

you are a nice guy. i hate the reality enema you are about to suffer, bc it will be quite catestrophic. at least, you can also enjoy the bounty of repatriated wealth and booming economy along with those of us who are happy to see his false legacy crumble.

You can buy me a drink when that happens... no counting on that.

Manaforte can't pay restitution sitting in jail. I doubt he can pay it anyhow if he doesn't have any more dirty money rolling in.

Biff will pardon him but I don't think that gets him off the hook for the taxes, which are astronomical by now.

Also, multiple people swept up in the investigation have hired the same law firm. That is unusual. Reading between the lines, I wouldn't be surprised if there's a benefactor trying to keep the legal fees minimized and all the suspects/witnesses reigned in, i.e. "If you want a free lawyer to keep you out of trouble, use this guy and don't get any ideas." The lawyer will have the client commit to a narrative early on so there's no conflict. Maybe I'm wrong on that, but don't be surprised if it falls out like that.

What I can't figure out is why Flynn flipped. Biff would've had his back with a pardon.
