... and I'm talking about how labor unions began during the 1880s. The lesson talks about how workers were protesting about their poor working conditions. One of the incidents we talked about is the Haymarket Riot in Chicago in 1886. Workers were holding a rally supporting striking workers. A bomb went off and a riot began.

In the end, seven people were charged with inciting a riot. Two were sentenced to life in prison and one committed suicide before the trial. The other four? They were found guilty of inciting a riot and HANGED... for inciting a riot.

That's how anarchists were dealt with back then.
