Another aspect of this tragedy to keep in mind, most every house or business destroyed will not be covered by insurance. Most insurance policies do not cover flood or landsides. These people are screwed and government is barely lifting finger to help.
Before Helene, I did not realize that there are massive silica and lithium deposits in the Asheville area.

So if a Kamala supporter loses their home, their cars, all their worldly possession, Kamala says all that can be replaced for $750.00.

If you are a Ukrainian, you have access to an unlimited amount of money providing for your defense, infrastructure, social services and retirement. What part of the video is out of context? Where exactly are all of these people going to go shopping for their groceries? Towns have been wiped off the map, roads have been washed out meaning goods can not get to the grocery stores. Sorry but the $750 is pretty much meaningless in the situation these people are in as a result of this disaster.

So let's say your daughter has just lost her house, her cars, all her worldly possessions. Kamala comes to her and says "Honey, we are going to get you the help you need! You can answer your own question, what was it Democrats and the MSM were screaming about with Katrina? That's the problem for Democrats, they make everything political when it's a Republican in office but when a Democrat is in office they all of a sudden have a different take on everything and then act outraged they are being called out for their double standard.
Just off the top of my head what can be done immediately. Upon learning of the disaster immediately send in thousands of military members for massive search and rescue operations. Probably to late for that now. Massive airlift of supplies, generators, fuel, medicine and heavy equipment to clear roads. Evacuation operation for those with medical needs. Influx of military medical staff to care for those injured or require medical care. Deploy military bridging equipment to open roads for supplies to get in and for people to get out. Create tent camps and temporary housing to provide shelter for those that have none and for those working in response to the disaster. Government has catered to the illegals with all the creature comforts they never had, seems only right for the victims of a natural disaster to receive at least some of the same. Support all the different charity groups that responded far quicker than government and quit confiscating the donation they have received for government use which amounts nothing but a a slower, inept and corrupt response.
Most of this should have been accomplished within 48 hours but here we are 6 days later and little of this has been accomplished by our federal government. I would also say it's not a good look for Joe to be sitting on a beach and Kamala attending a fund raiser eating crab inn Las Vegas. Should have been in Washington overseeing the response or at least not been seen enjoying life while the disaster unfolded. Remember Democrats and the press went nuts because Bush was at his ranch just a few hours away by car during Katrina.

I've always thought preppers were silly but the more government failures I see, whether intentional or not. I'm beginning to think the silly ones are those that do not prep. I should have learned this after the big freeze here in Texas two or three years ago but I was prepared, unintentionally, and thought it was kind of fun. After seeing another spectacular failure of government I'm even more convinced the only thing you can rely on is yourself.
