Shoulder issues

Been killing me for about a month. I thought it was just muscular so I cut back on lifting. Still hurts. Do I need to see and orthopedic? Anyone have any recommendations in Tulsa?
 
Mine hurt like hell for a long time after I started lifting last year. But I still had full range of motion so I never went to the doctor. There are a couple of easy impingement test you can find online that may help to ease your mind if you care to look them up.

I been doing some shoulder exercises to strengthen/tighten up my shoulder/rotator cuff muscles before I lift on chest and back days now and haven't had any pain in months now. Just be careful to start out with really light weights.
 
Do you sleep on your side? I tweaked a labrum playing basketball and it lingered forever, even after I stopped lifting overhead. Eventually I stopped sleeping on my side, and it healed pretty quickly. Now I do a lot of specialty shoulder training (face pulls, landmine presses, bottoms-up kettlebell presses, isometric holds, etc.). Feels good as new.

How do you stop sleeping in a certain position?

How do you stop sleeping in a certain position?
I always rolled onto my side when I started drifting off, out of habit more than anything. Instead, I just stayed on my back. I don't usually move around much once I'm out.

Ran into the same issue when I started lifting last year... I was hitting the bench press hard... took about 3 weeks off from the bench and the pain started to go away...

now, I no longer bench press (talked to many folks who know what they are talking about who said bench press is not good on your shoulders AT ALL)...

now, I only use dumbbell and shoulder feels fine to this point... although, I am going a little light on the weights...
 
I fought shoulder issues for almost two years. I never rested it properly, but didn't want to find out I needed surgery either. Got to the point I couldn't do fly's at all or much of anything shoulder related. Benching either. Lost quite a bit of size too. Not until I had my cancer surgery where I didn't lift for a few months before and after. 6 months of rest and I'll b darn but my shoulder has been as good as new the past 8 months.

My suggestion would be real rest or see the dr.
