Honest question: Who would do an honest investigation of this issue? This has become so partisan that I'm not sure that any individual capable of performing this level of analysis isn't considered tainted for being part of one party or the other. If a Dem investigates and finds anything, then the Repubs will call it a political witch-hunt. If a Repub investigates and finds nothing significant, the Dems will state that its just a cover-up. Where do you find someone whose results will actually be respected by both sides?
You go find a U.S. Attorney or ass't U.S. Atty. Just like they did with Valeria Plame. The republican have always screamed for independent counsel (Kenneth Starr) and watching them tap dance around it now would be funny if it wasn't so hypocritical. I'm not even sure Starr had any prosecutorial experience.
I'm sorry if its hypocritical, but Starr was a joke and is exactly the kind of 'special prosecutor' that I was referring to. He wasn't independent. Not by a country mile.
Then again, maybe thats what we do need. And like Starr, after a few months of dragging this through the muck, American's on either side of the aisle just won't give a damn about this scandal anymore. And Washington can continue to be its own soap opera while the rest of middle America goes on ignoring it.
Colluding with a foreign power (and historical enemy for very good reason) to steal data and influence an election isn't a "soap opera" -- its arguably a capital offense, depending on the details.
The fact that Jefferson Beauregard Sessions, III perjured himself doesn't exactly extinguish the suspicion, either.

And the way this is all being handled today — and people have the best intentions. The heartfelt desire to defend Jeff Sessions by pointing out the Democrat hypocrisy, when are we gonna learn that Democrat hypocrisy doesn’t exist? There is no such thing as Democrat hypocrisy in the media. You’re never gonna beat these people back by pointing out how they’ve done the same thing that they’re accusing us of doing. It’s never gonna work! This story is not about Jeff Sessions.
