I could google these answers, but I know I will have to read through a bunch of minutiae before I find my answers. I figure some of you guys know the answers.
If the Senate is split 50/50 on a vote, I know that the VP casts the tiebreaking vote. Does he vote on any item where the results are split evenly, or only certain items? In other words, are there some items where a majority is required and the item is defeated if at least 51 Senators don't vote for it?
Next question. If something were to happen to Trump during the next 2 years, and Pence were to become POTUS, how is his VP selected? Is another individual automatically raised to that position (AG?), or does Pence pick someone and he is confirmed by House/Senate? Something else?
Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer.
