Saw a live "beer run" at a QT last night

Anyone seen a "beer run" happen live? I saw a sketchy, chunky lady walk out the door with 3 30 packs. Next I see her sketchy BF with 3 more 30 packs and he's about 20 seconds behind her. He stops when he sees me eyeball him. He then watched me (as I watch him) while I'm at the counter paying for a water. He proceeds to steal the 30 packs and I watch him go out the door (I know QT policy is to let them leave). I notify the clerk as he's leaving, he calls security and they get the couples tag #. I assume these folks don't get to enjoy their beer for long. Y

I was kind of surprised that he did it (not so much her). He saw me look him in the eyes so he knew I was watching. He did it anyways. I'm sure they'll get a knock on their door this weekend

About 10 years ago, there was a grocery store clerk that was shot and killed in Tulsa trying to stop such an event. Just makes you wonder what kind of people are out there doing this

I used to manage convenience stores. We had people do grab and dashes all the time. Most of them very blatant. Grab a case off the display in action alley and hit the door running. Our policy was to not even bother calling the police, but just mark it down on the inventory loss sheet. One store I worked the night shift in had me in a BR cage and I had electronic mag locks on the doors. It was always fun to watch them smash in to the door at full speed and then realize they are stuck in the store and I am on the phone with the police. They would kick and throw things at the door not realizing it was also BR glass and not realizing that once they destroyed over $1000 of items it went from a misdemeanor to a felony.

When you do a beer run and this is all hypothetical of course. You have two people go inside the store within 5 minutes of each other. One person grabs the beer and jumps in the car and drives away. The other person acts like they are chasing them and returns with a bogus plate number. Boom beer for the night. I hope no one under 21 is reading this.
