I'm sure you've read about it by now. What the?

Your kid studies hard for 12 years, has the resources to go to college, pays for the SAT, only to be penalized for being an intelligent Caucasian or Asian, living in a decent neighborhood because you wanted the best for your kids?

Who gives these people the power to do this crap? How can discrimination be legal?

The most stupid, inane ignorance...
Don't get me started.

My 20 year old daughter: former valedictorian, 34 ACT, national merit scholar and junior at OSU thinks this adversity score nonsense is complete garbage.

Her mother and I divorced 9 years ago and in her case she credits that and related contextual events with motivating her to succeed rather than being a hinder.

Everyone is different. The great thing about standardized tests is that they ignore anything but the meritocracy of results.

Meanwhile....

CNN, lying by omission in their Tweet, left out the most important part of the article (highlighted).

The middle school didn’t merely “invite” the performers.

There's a Phil Silvers in every cloud, or something like that.... These people are the highest risk for offing themselves.
Exactly.
That's why Trump and the joint chiefs don't want them in the armed services.
They're extremely high maintenance, and their contributions to the fighting cause never equal their inherent liability.
There's no upside whatsoever.
