After a several month long project there, my employer (then) wanted me to move to SF in 1995. It was getting too weird for me back then. I said, "No thanks". The big guy told me, "What if I told you that YOU HAVE TO go to San Francisco?" I told him, I'd simply resign. That was the last discussion on the matter, and I worked the next five glorious years in beautiful Oklahoma before leaving the company on my own accord.

I spent a month up in Michigan this year. While there are some good people, there are a bunch of batshit crazy folks. I talked politics with quite a few and was amazed how radical and almost violent some of them were, both left and right. Northern Michigan has it's fair share of good old boy rednecks and an obscene amount of radical pure dee leftist. Never seen so many ugly pasty white women with pink, blue and purple hair in one place. Don't get me wrong there were some decent people but the amount of flat out losers was very noticeable.
I had never been to a pot dispensary and wanted to see what one was like. I spent about an hour in one talking to patrons and some of the employees. Wow, what a bunch of losers with absolutely no ambition or direction in life. Smartest girl in the entire place was the manager, her knowledge of marijuana was impressive to say the least but that's about all she has going for her.
I do love how they all have opinions on the race issue and how things are in the south. When you get to talking to them it doesn't take long to figure out they have little interaction with minorities and have never been in the south. They have a Mexican market I found a couple of years ago when I was up there. The butcher there knows how to cut a good brisket and I have him set me one aside every year. They are struggling to stay in business because none of the white people will dare darken their door step.

I've a few brothers in arms up in Yankee land that appreciate my redneck way. I bring them Texas brisket, of course I have to smoke it. And they give me cheese and bacon. My buds in Wisconsin.

Yea when I go they want me to smoke briskets, pork butts and ribs. In turn they've taught me how they smoke salmon and cheese. About ten years ago I bought my brother-in -law a plow disk to cook fajitas and showed hi how we used it A buddy of his become obsessed with it and asked me to bring him one on our next trip. He's now known as the fajita king with all the firefighters. He has a set up with three plow disks that can cook enough fajitas to feed an army. It's been a good exchange of recipes and smoking tips.
