Seeing Shinyribs and the great Robert Earl at the Aztec in December. Staying directly on river walk but am willing to Uber anywhere. We are there two nights and looking to maybe go fancy (steakhouse?) the non concert night.

I am also a fan of Mexican, bloody Marys before 10 am, and quality day drinking in general.

TIA.

I know a great Mexican place down there that was recommended by locals I will ask my FIL for the name. It’s off the beaten path a bit down by the river walk.

La Gloria in the pearl district.

Bliss in the king William district.

The frozen margarita at la Gloria is STRONG. Good outdoor seating. Excellent food. I always get the Queso fundido and the tacos al bistec. Look up the menu. It’s big time.

Couple more suggestions. For fancy steak house.... you can’t beat Bohanon’s on Houston street. Again, look up the menu. It’s really Good.

If u have time, go to gruene about 45 mins north of SA. The gristmill river restaurant is awesome too.

I’m a big fan of Rosario’s. It’s in the king William district, which is an easy walk. I also still love Mi Tiera. Been around for a hundred years and still some of the best Tex mex going. Boudro’s is still excellent. Zinc bistro is very good and the esquire tavern is a fun and reasonable. La panadería for breakfast. Bella on Houston really good Mediterranean. Stop into Schilo’s for home made root beer.

underrated food town

Ps. Saw them last December. Super fun show.

Ok it is in the old downtown area. Mexican Manhattan is the name. This was recommended by the locals who speak very little English. No racism
