Doubtful. Oh, they'll certainly try, and already are. But, unless there are more serious charges or actions by him that come out or there is some proof of the incident with the underage girl, I don't see it impacting him that much.
He isn't that broadly popular to begin with, granted his last couple of records have been more widely played. He has his own record label. He has a lot of hardcore fans. He has helped many female artists who haven't made any such claims.
The stories of manipulation and mind games/emotional abuse can hardly be any kind of surprise to anyone who has followed his career for any time at all or knows much of his story. His ex-wife comes off sounding like the vacuous twit she likely is.
Yes, but a lot of his audience are knee jerk progressives. I kept waiting for someone he worked with to defend him. Saw nothing. Natalie Prass, one of his recent protégés tweeted out something like “believe women” shortly after the nyt story. Isbell even distanced himself today. I think he’ll have a very hard time crawling out of this hole.

knee-jerk progressives will bail until it's one of their very own. Guy has always been a loon of sorts but isn't that what music making is all about? If I bailed on some of my favorite artists due to personal issues and politics my catalog would be empty. I can't imagine throwing away Steve Earle, Jerry Jeff, Todd Snider, etc.
In better news, 100Tons has recently sourced a couple of tickets to his first Isbell show in June. Ryan fulfilled every nutty stereotype when I saw him last year, he is a giant nutball.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it’s because you’re a reasonable human being. And the guys you listed, who I am big fans of as well (mediocre Steve Earle fan), didn’t fall into the biggest no no chasm possible today - like Ryan did.
I disagree vehemently with many of my favorite artists. Thankfull I can separate the art from the person, because I am a reasonable human being, but the progressive mob isn’t reasonable and they’re a very large part of his audience.

You’d like to be convicted by the hearsay of someone r who says you did something wrong without corroboration? If he sent dick pics to sone underage girl? By all means roast him.
The rest of it mostly amounts to him being a dick. Which isnt news. If you read the women’s actual accounts, other than the reportedly underage girl, they really don’t tie up to the headlines or much of the other narrative.
Most of their stories really come across as: I slept with him even though he was much older, because he seemed fun at first, and I thought maybe he could help my music career, but he turned out to be a neurotic, controlling, dude who loved to play mind games.
Half the corral would be in prison. You would be in a maximum security.
