Ron Paul Endorses Tulsi Gabbard

For my friend, syskatine. Please watch this video from about the 1:30 to 4:00 mark. Glenn Greenwald touches on your concern that Tulsi Gabbard is an Assad apologist.

That should seal it for her with his Midas touch.
Just for the record he’s saying she’s the best candidate the Democrats could vote for, not endorsing her for president. (Although he’d probably prefer her over Trump.)

Ponca Dan, have you looked into Mike Gravel?

Don’t know anything about him. I looked him up and there are a lot of things to like about him. But he’s too old and has much worse name recognition than Tulsi. Tulsi has a puncher’s chance, admittedly very small, but Gravel would only be made to look like a fool.

IMO Tulsi is the only Democrat with a chance to compete with Trump. Her intelligence is dazzling, her demeanor is unflappable and her anti-regime change war attitude puts Trump’s neocon war policies on full display as the exact opposite of what he ran on on 2016.

I don’t see any other Democrat as having any hope of unseating Trump. To be honest I don’t see Tulsi beating him either, but she has the best chance of the whole bunch. The rest of them are soulless unprincipled opportunists, pure swamp creatures. Tulsi is a free thinking outsider that appeals to everyone from true leftists (as opposed to establishment, corporatist leftists) to radical libertarians like me. I even saw Jacob Chaffetz endorse her for the Democrat nomination on Fox News last night, saying how much he likes her for her willingness to seek consensus with Republicans.

The Democrats are making a huge mistake in ignoring her.

Like wow man. Peace baby. Everything looks so green. Dig it.

This weekend I wore my Tulsi 2020 tee shirt as my wife and I walked at Lake Hefner, and I was shocked at how many “thumbs up” responses I received as people passed by.

Maybe in iowa that would fly in some precincts but the good folk of OK probably had other ideas for the thumbs up for you...

It may come as a surprise to you but not everyone - even in Oklahoma - thinks the same way you do.

Whoa! It's getting deep in here. What neocon war policies does Trump have?
Well, let’s see. Support the Saudi regime that tortured and killed a journalist. Provide war materiel to Saudi while it conducts a genocidal bombing war on civilians in Yemen. Threaten Iran with invasion (One If Bolton’s top priorities). Make plans to invade Venezuela if their hand picked man Guido doesn't get installed in power (one of Pompeo’s top priorities). Sabotage negotiations with North Korea at the Vietnam summit (Bolton). Persuade Trump to stay in Syria even after he insisted he wanted out. Continue war operations in, what is it seven separate fronts around the world? Attempt to bring trumped up charges on Assange, a foreign journalist, for spilling secrets of American military malfeasance. The Venezuelan invasion, by the way, would be very publicly illegal, starting another war without congressional authorization, which Pompeo has hinted he’d do regardless of what Congress thought of it. Is that enough?

There's a valid reason to stay in the current environment. Kurds. Look them up.

How many of those did Trump get us into? Exiting a theater isn't like clicking your ruby slipper heels together 3 times.

You're going to have to back all of that hyperbole up with solid facts, Dan. I'm not buying chicken little opinion articles. Give me links to factual information. I'm not saying anything you posted is false, but all of them seem a little too breathless to be based in fact.

No, Medic, I’m not going to spend time looking up sources. As you did this time you would only dismiss them as “opinion.” The Venezuelan link I provided has a link within it pointing out Pompeo’s refusal to admit he needs to consult congress. A few days ago I posted a link with Rand Paul questioning him in a congressional hearing, at which he said he’d leave deciding whether he needs to consult congress “up to counsel,” at which Paul told him flat out congress has not given the administration such authority. Pompeo just smirked.

The bombing of Yemen is well known. As plugged into recent events as you are you cannot possibly be ignorant of the recent votes by both the House and the Senate to stop funding Saudi Arabia’s unopposed bombing of civilians in Yemen, which Trump has unilaterally defied, therefore essentially defying the will of the people as made public by our representatives.

I respect you a lot, Medic. But sometimes the Trump Derangement Syndrome applies to his supporters every bit as much as his haters. There is no denying that Trump has surrounded himself from the beginning with neocon military/foreign policy advisors, in complete contravention of how he campaigned in 2016. He inherited virtually every one of the issues I have pointed out. They are all issues the NeoCons have gotten us into, and have perpetuated for going on 20 years. But he has kept them in positions of control. And that is something for which he should be rightly condemned.

I’ll leave you with this link, which you will call opinion, which it is. Nevertheless it provides quotes from the major players. We ignore the warnings at our own peril.
